Nikon 1 Gets a Third Party Lens

rokinon7.5cx.jpg

Rokinon is the first company other than Nikon to make a lens for the Nikon 1’s CX mount, introducing a 7.5mm f/8 fisheye lens. The lens, which has a simple 4 element design, is manual focus only and has a fixed f/8 aperture. The angle of view is about 162° diagonally across the frame, and Rokinon cites this as about equivalent to a 20mm lens on full frame bodies.

The lens is light at 7.8 ounces, small at only 2” long, and costs only US$200. Lens data page.
