Thom's Mini Review: This is a solid, well-made product that provides a unique capability for the m4/3 cameras. Basically a "normal" lens for m4/3, the fast f/0.95 aperture allows you to produce very shallow depth of field, especially on people or objects framed at relatively close distances. Optically, you need to stop down a bit to get the best out of this lens (typical of most lenses), but it has decent enough performance. It's not perfect wide open, but video users especially will find it more than useful in low light. Bokeh is very good. Other optical characteristics are quite good, too. Note that this is a heavy lens, and doesn't balance well on the very small m4/3 bodies. Even a GH-2 will be front-heavy with this lens on it. Build quality is superb, not surprising since these lenses are hand assembled and use traditional metal parts. The focus ring is easy to find and quite smooth. The big drawbacks are its size and weight, plus the fact that it is a very expensive lens. The pluses are all about the performance it provides. Recommended
