Sony calls their mount for NEX lenses the E-mount. The E-mount has a 1.5x angle of view crop compared with 35mm and full frame cameras. With the original NEX cameras Sony announced three lenses (18-55 kit, 18-200mm, and 16mm), and has since supplemented that with several additional lenses. A number of other companies have announced support for the NEX mount, including Sigma and Zeiss.
Sony has publicly disclosed (and in Feb 2012 updated) a road map for future lenses, which includes the following still unannounced lenses:
- Zeiss high performance zoom (2013)
- Medium telephoto prime (e.g. 85mm f/1.8) (2013)
