Here we have a NEX-5 image, and I've included it to show what the larger sensor of the APS-sized cameras actually provides you: greater dynamic range. This shot in La Recoleta in Buenos Aires has a huge range of tonal values. The sun is almost directly behind the stained glass, and I pushed my exposure as high as I could on that area. But that left the interior of this crypt quite dark, espectially under the shelf on the right. The amazing thing is that there is plenty of detail in that area (I've chosen not to pull it up into full visibility), and it's not lost in noise as can happen with very small sensor cameras.
